SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, COSTA VIDA

Costa Vida is looking for a Senior Accountant to lead by example and interact directly with corporate and franchise restaurants. This position has full-time availability and makes a competitive salary plus bonus potential. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance. Costa Vida's headquarters are near Salt Lake City, Utah.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and by establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. This position will manage complex accounting tasks, oversee month-end and year-end close processes, and support the Sr. Director of Finance in the preparation of financial statements and budgets. The Senior Accountant will also mentor junior staff and ensure adherence to GAAP.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and review asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements and produce error-free accounting reports.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Provide training and support to junior staff accountants.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-7 years of accounting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of basic and complex accounting procedures.
• In-depth understanding of GAAP.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Advanced computer-based skills and expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel (Vlookups and pivot tables), Word, and Outlook.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience in Food & Beverage is a plus.
